One way I like to break tension and introduce a small group activity on teams I am involved in is by baking goods to bring to our meetings. Baking is one of my hobbies that I don’t pursue often because I actually don’t like eating everything I bake!
While I do produce delicious goods, I’m currently not at the level where I can just freehand the recipes. I often scourge various websites, stumbling across blog after blog, to find recipes. I try a variety of different recipes for each dessert to find my holy grail recipe—that one recipe that never fails no matter what.
Chocolate chip cookies are a baked good that I consider a staple. You can’t really go wrong with a good chocolate chip cookie. I prefer soft, chewy cookies that have a good touch of sweetness. For chocolate chip cookie specifically, there should be a good balance of dough and chips where in every bite you get a bit of both.
Several years ago I stumbled across a wonderful blog called Sally’s Baking Addiction looking for a chocolate chip cookie recipe. This recipe is one I always, always go back to. Anyone who has one of these cookies always, always raves about them. The recipe is so simple and requires so little effort. The only thing I need to do is just make sure that I make the dough ahead of time.
In making this wonderful recipe my HG chocolate chip cookie recipe, I decided to try some of her other recipes. They were always a hit. Try out the two recipes below if you’re looking to give your team that extra kick 😉
